Pre Algebra

Pre Algebra is an accelerated course for 7th grade students designed to provide foundations in algebra, geometry and problem solving that is needed for success in subsequent math courses. Class work is fast paced and effort is required to stay current with work. Students successfully completing Pre Algebra may advance to Algebra in 8th grade.

Pre Algebra A

Pre Algebra A is a two-year course for 7th grade students designed to provide foundations in algebra, geometry and problem solving that is needed for success in subsequent math courses. The pace of this course is designed to build a strong skill base necessary for future algebra courses. Concepts will be presented in a challenging and meaningful way. Students will advance to Pre Algebra B in 8th grade.

Science 6

Science 6 is a course designed for 6th grade students to integrate varying aspects of physical, life and earth sciences. Students will build a strong science foundatation with directed and guided lab inquiry activities.  Students will use this knowledge as a base for future science exploration.

Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is an extra-curricular activity for 7th and 8th grade students that meets weekly January through April. Competitions are like academic track meets, consisting of a series of 23 team events. Each year, a portion of the events are rotated to reflect the ever-changing nature of genetics, earth science, chemistry, anatomy, physics, geology, mechanical engineering and technology. By combining events from all disciplines, Science Olympiad encourages a wide cross-section of students to get involved. Emphasis is placed on active, hands-on group participation. Through Science Olympiad, students, teachers, parents, principals and business leaders bond together and work toward a shared goal.

Science Olympiad is always looking for parent volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Mrs. Hughes directly.
