Three courses taught at CHS offer Microsoft Office Certification (MOS) at either the Core or Expert Level. These courses are Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint and Web Pages. The testing center program started with a Carl Perkins 10% grant in 2002.
Generally, these types of certifications are offered only at testing centers. Cambridge students are able to take the exams on-site during the school day at the wholesale cost, saving them both time and money. Microsoft Certification is recognized in business and industry in that it proves you know how to use software at a proficient level.
CHS alumni have contacted us regarding the value of their MOS certificates. They told us that it was helpful when applying for jobs, and two students were even able to skip a computer applications course that was "required" to get in to the business school.
You can learn more about the MOS program at Certiport's website.
