Course Description:
This course is an introduction to basic materials, edition procedures and concepts in the different types of printmaking. In order to experience all of the printing processes offered, students should take this course for a full year. However, it may be taken by semester. Printing processes that will be covered throughout the year include: Large relief print (Linoleum), Dry Point Engraving, Embossing, Hand-Cut Screen print, Multicolored Reduction Printing, Lithography, Direct Film Screen printing, Indirect Film Screen printing, Paper Block Out printing, and Monoprint. At the conclusion of the course, students should have a basic knowledge of most printing mediums.
