Meet Nurse Erin Spear

I'm pleased to be your school nurse. As a Registered Nurse (RN), I provide school health services to the students and staff of Cambridge School District through a contract with Fort HealthCare.

I graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1998 and have found working in the field of school health services to be very rewarding. I've been an employee with Fort HealthCare for over three years and have been an RN for 17 years, working in various fields of nursing including the operating room, obstetrics, and public health. I find School Nursing to be the most diverse and challenging nursing path so far!

When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Steven, and my children, Ella and Emmett, and my dog Juliet! I also enjoy yoga, Zumba, gardening, reading, and traveling.

My philosophy in nursing is summed up well by a quote from Myrtle Aydelotte, PhD, RN, FAAN:

Nursing encompasses an art, a humanistic orientation, a feeling for the value of the individual and an intuitive sense of ethics, and of the appropriateness of action taken.

Please remember that when it comes to your student's health, I am here to help you.
