NMS Grading Periods
The school year for Nikolay Middle School students is divided into four quarters. Students will receive grade reports mid-term and at the end of each quarter—to be posted on Family Access. In addition, we request that parents and guardians pick up report cards for Quarter 1 during the Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences. Report cards will be mailed home at the end of the Quarter 2, Quarter 3, and Quarter 4.
Our formal parent/teacher conference, held at the end of the 1st Quarter, is a great opportunity for parents and guardians to meet with our teachers. Please feel free to contact our staff whenever you have questions or concerns.
Please refer to our Helpful Resources links for more detailed information. If you have additional questions, please contact our staff.
Guidelines for Students
At Nikolay Middle School, each classroom teacher will distribute a class syllabus at the beginning of the course. The syllabus will spell out guidelines for course content, classroom conduct expectations, homework and other assignments, and grading. Grades will be based upon the percentage of points earned throughout the term. The 10 point scale shown below shall be used for all NMS classes.
All academic subjects, including physical education, exploratories, and electives count toward a student's inclusion on an honor roll. At the end of each quarter we will publish the names of students on the Honor Roll and High Honor Roll for Nikolay Middle School students. Students with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of between 3.0 and 3.49 points qualify for the Honor Roll; students with a GPA of 3.5 points or higher qualify for the High Honor Roll.
