Spring School Board Member Election

School Board Member - Positions Open

The election of School Board representatives for the School District of Cambridge will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. 

There are two (2) Board seats up for election.  Seats are for a 3-year term of office beginning April 22, 2024 thru April 26, 2027.  The seats are currently held by Jay Fisher and Jim Womble. Seated Board Members have until Friday, December 22, 2023 to declare their intention to run again for another term or file notice of non-candidacy. 

Anyone interested in running for the School Board must complete and file at the District Office by 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, a Campaign Registration Statement and a Declaration of Candidacy.  These forms are available at the District Office, along with an information packet for potential candidates - 403 Blue Jay Way, or by contacting 608/423-4345, ext. 4107. (Candidate Packet is posted above and to the right as well).

A candidate orientation will be held in conjunction with the BOE Communications Committee Meeting on Monday, December 5 at approximately 5:30 p.m. (meeting begins at 5:00 p.m - District Office Conference Room and via Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89976408314?pwd=aVMyUHNIVFVTK2lnb3hObmlXSkdDQT09

Write-in Candidate Registration Deadline for the Spring Election

March 29, 2024

If at least one candidate has been certified to appear on the ballot for the office sought by a write-in candidate, and provided that no candidate who has been certified to appear on the ballot dies before the election, then write-in votes may only be counted if the write-in candidate has filed a registration statement under s. 11.0202(1)(a) by no later than noon on the Friday immediately preceding the election. Section 7.50(2)(em). If no candidates have been certified to appear on the ballot for the office in question, or if a candidate who was certified to appear on the ballot dies before the election, then all write-in votes shall be counted, regardless of whether the person receiving votes filed a registration statement.
