The 2022 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools, District Sustainability Awardees, and Postsecondary Sustainability Awardess were honored in a ceremony on Tuesday, July 26 in Washington, D.C. Officials from schools, districts and postsecondary institutation received sustainably crafted plaques in tribute for their acheievements.
Mr. Holt (CES Principal), Mrs. Murray (Nutrition Services Director) and Tracy Smithback-Travis (parent, CSD BOE Member) traveled to Washington D.C. to accept the Green Ribbon School award on behalf of Cambridge Elementary School. The award was presented by Cindy Marten (U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education)
Across the country, 27 schools, 5 districts and 4 postsecondary instituations were honered for their innovative efforts to reduce environmental impact and utitlity costs, improve health and wellness, and ensure effective sustainablity education. Cambridge Elementary is honored to be a recipient of this prestigous national award.
