Members of the Cambridge Elementary Student Council took a trip to the Humane Society of Jefferson County to present a $1000 donation and tour the facility. Student Council planned and hosted a movie night to support their fundraising mission. Each year student council chooses an organization to donate to and this year the Humane Society was the lucky recipient. Way to go, Cambridge Elementary!

We are celebrating at the CES. This amazing birthday crown turned 40 years old today. Ms. GI made this crown for Mrs. Legge when she was in Kindergarten. It's the little things that mean the most. Happy birthday to Mrs. Legge and a special thank you to Ms. GI for making such an impact on the children in Cambridge.

Did you know that CES has an awesome Book Club? They meet every Monday after school to discuss their current book. A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Helgestad for sharing her time and love for reading with the students!
Each quarter, the Cambridge Wellness Collaborative works with the district Food Service team to run Try It Tuesday. The goal is to have students try healthy foods that they might not have had before. The Food Service team prepares enough for all of the schools to participate.

As our first blast of winter approaches tonight, please be sure your child has the appropriate clothing for recess. If there is snow covering the ground, students need to have a jacket, snow pants, a hat, gloves and boots.
CES students were entertained by the Opera for the Young last week. Members of the Blue Jay Choir were able to help put on the show! The CES is grateful for the time Ms. Mickelson's puts in running the Blue Jay Choir!
The Cambridge Elementary has many after school clubs and programs which includes the Art Club open to 4th & 5th grade students. A special thank you goes out to Mrs. K and Ms. Carly for running this program.

Mr. Gould at the Severson Learning Center hosted almost all of the elementary grade levels over the past couple of weeks. Cambridge is very lucky to have such a wonderful resource.
Members of the Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department spent the morning with the 3rd graders and talked about fire prevention. They also announced the 2024 fire poster contest winners! Congratulations to all that submitted a poster
Did you know that the CES is home to a school garden and woods? We are very lucky to have such great learning opportunities for our students.
Chef Holt was serving it up at the CES last week. Everybody helps where they can to ensure our students get what they need!

Walk, Bike & Roll To School is tomorrow - Thursday, September 19th
The CES garden had a great harvest this year. CES students picked cherry tomatoes last week and had them with lunch! It was a great way for them to see what they have grown and eat it as well.
